WEEKEND WRAP-UP: DJ Homicide and Erick Morillo headlines a slow week!

Talk about a slow week.  I guess the nightclubs scheduled their biggest events for Halloween, not the weekend after.  Not much love for November 2 - 4, but that's not going to stop us from digging deeper to see what you should be doing this weekend.

HAZE NIGHTCLUB: Best known as the dude laying out Sugar Ray's beats, DJ Homicide is making another appearance at Haze Nightclub at Aria.  Does that sound like a good time?  Well it should!  Don't question me about this.

New Club Alert: THE ACT Debuts This Week!

This weekend marks the birth of yet another exciting hotspot on the Las Vegas Strip.  It's THE ACT, an exciting new venture from Simon Hammerstein (who created The Box in New York City and London).  Found in a 15, 000 square-foot space in The Shoppes at The Palazzo, The Act is unlike anything else on The Strip.  Below you will find a more detailed description of this exciting new club.  I can't wait to see what kind of special events The Act scares up each and every week.

Beware: The Act is not like other nightclubs on the Las Vegas Strip.  This is not the kind of place you casually wander in to.  This is more than just people on a dance floor, this is something more dangerous.  The Act is an explosion of energy, theatrical flourishes and action, action, action.  There's so much going on that everybody, no matter who they are, will get in on the act.
Taking over a 15, 000 square-foot space in The Shoppes at The Palazzo, The Act promises to be the Strip's most over-the-top nightclub yet.  It's located above the waterfall atrium and incorporates aesthetic designs inspired by a number of disparate time periods and locations.  You'll see inspiration pulled from an Italian opera house, European cathedrals, New York City’s Grand Central Station Post Office, 1920s speakeasy and more.  And yet, despite this linear paradox, it all comes together in an amazing way at The Act.
Inside you'll find a Burlesque wonderland.  But don't get too comfortable, because there are surprises around every corner.  You'll discover candlelit passageways, a labyrinth of rooms and secrets galore.  There's a Vaudevillian display of acrobatics, contortionists and other bizarre acts on various stages.  It's creepy, dark and just a little disorienting.  But it's also one of the best experiences you'll have in Las Vegas.

Halloween 2012: Heroes, Villains, Sexy Vixens and Hell of Wheels!

You can't half-ass Halloween.  While most holidays require little more than you showing up, Halloween requires some work.  Oh sure, you can put on a skimpy costume and call it a day, but everybody knows that you're just being lazy.  If you want to really impress, you have to spend some real time and effort on your getup.  It can't be too obvious, yet you don't want it to be too showy.  There's a gentle balance that is sometimes tough to hit.  That's what makes this holiday so fulfilling.

This year, the nightclubs of Angel Management Group (including LAX and Pure) stepped up with their own Halloween surprise.  Not only are they delivering a bunch of must-attend events (as expected), but they created some truly inspired art to go along with it.  Join me as we look their Halloween 2012 line-up through art ...

We start with the Sexiest Vixen at LAX Nightclub.  This mysterious event takes place on Saturday, October 27.

Next up is Heaven & Hell at Pure Nightclub.  Much like the Sexiest Vixen, this event takes place on Saturday, October 27.

And now for something completely different!  On Tuesday, October 30, Pure Nightclub will be hosting the Heroes & Villains Party with Sky Blu.

Things get ghoulish on Wednesday, October 31.  Halloween brings us Life After Death, a zombie-filled night at LAX Nightclub.

We end with another great event on Wednesday, October 31.  It's Hell on Wheels, Pure's official Halloween costume party.  If this art is any indication, Hell on Wheels is not to be missed!

Halloween 2012: Tao Nightclub Scares Up a Good Time!

Things are about to get a little spooky when Tao Nightclub unleashes a Halloween weekend of terror.  If you're into sexy costumes, celebrity musicians and dub step, then Tao Nightclub has you covered!

It all kicks off this Friday (October 26), when Tao welcomes Politik.  Okay, that's not very scary.  But that shouldn't stop you from having a frighteningly good time dancing to this crowd-pleaser.  On Saturday, October 27, Redfoo will be stopping by.  Come see what the former LMFAO member is up to since the split.  I have a hunch things are going to be okay.

The real party happens on Wednesday, October 31.  Tao Nightclub presents the official Dub Expo Halloween Party!  It's a night full of very loud dub step and sexy costumes.  Look out for special appearances by Kirko Bangz and DJ Quik.  This slamming event is guaranteed to be scarier than Paranormal Activity 4.

While Labor Day and New Year's Eve get all of the attention, the real party happens in October.  That's because every year all of Las Vegas dresses up for a ghoulish Halloween time.  The nightclubs of the 9Group will be celebrating this holiday in style and you won't want to miss a thing.

It all kicks off with Moon's Attack of the Mummy on October 26.  M!KEATTACK will be spinning a scary mix of hits while the nightclub judges a costume competition.  There's $5,000 on the line.

So dust off your costumes and let your wild side take over for the high-energy party known as GBDC.

The scary and sassy come out to play for Palms’ largestHalloween celebration, Night of the Killer Costumes. Partygoers will engage in naughty behavior while enjoying beats by DJ Zen Freeman and a wicked costume contest. The Best Overall Costume will win $10,000 and the Sexiest Costume wins $5,000. The Ghostbar will also have a costume contest, though the prizes are only worth $1,000 and $500.  On the other hand, their poster (above) is a parody of The Cabin in the Woods.  DJ Kevin Brown with DJ Casanova will transform Ghostbar into a haunted house for the most sinister of tempters and temptresses.

Moon Nightclub hosts a dark Fancy Sauce part of Palms Halloween week. With spooktacular confetti, lights and visual effects, Moon will offer a gourmet blend of the best party ingredients masterly crafted for clubgoers to dance the night away with DJ Alie Layus and Kid Conrad. The Best Weekend Ever? You decide!

There's always a lot happening in Las Vegas, but some nights are busier than others.  This weekend may actually be the single strongest weekend we've seen in months, making me pose the question: Is this the best weekend ever?

Hear me out.  On Friday we have the hip hop stylings Big Boi, one half of the legendary OutKast.  Big Boy will be performing exclusively at The Bank Nightclub.  And if that isn't good enough for you, we have the guy who proclaimed that hip hop is dead.  That's right, Nas will be tearing it up at the Tao Nightclub.

Saturday is just as busy, with the unique sounds of Matisyahu.  This Hebrew musician mixes reggae, alternative rock and just a hint of hip hop for a style unlike anything you've ever heard before.  He'll be rocking the Moon Nightclub.  Not to be outdone, The Wanted will be performing at 1 OAK Nightclub.  And if you still haven't heard found what you're looking for, then might I suggest Jermaine Dupri? He'll be performing at Tryst Nightclub!

You can find the full list of happenings over at this link.   For more information about any of these clubs, make sure and visit NiteLife Vegas!
